This place was the worst school I've gone to, and I've moved around a lot.

If you're considering going here, maybe look towards Munich or Vienna or even the UK because for the price it really isn't worth it, especially boarding.

Although there were a few good teachers, there was much to be asked for educationally. Because AIS has stopped offering the Ib programme, you'll have a hard time trying to get into any programmes in Europe.

The literature department was bad. Every good grade I got was due to the fact that I had good teachers in my previous school.

Find an international school that offers Ib if possible in case you want to study in Europe.

I worked at AIS-Salzburg last year. I was tasked with teaching three AP classes, which is an enormous load.

When I arrived, I did not have access to the internet through my cell phone, because I needed my visa first. Where I was teaching, there was no wifi. So I had no internet.

I sent multiple messages to Paul McLean about the lack of internet, and how it was preventing me from doing my job. No response.

This situation deeply affected my classroom performance, and on a personal level, it drove me nuts.

I finally had access to a cell phone plan, and thus the internet, in October.

After more prodding, Paul finally installed wifi in the library…..in December.

So much degradation and heartache could have been avoided by simply installing the wifi in early September instead of December. And it would have cost the same amount.

Why didn’t the school have full internet coverage in 2023? More importantly, why did Paul McLean not install the wifi in September instead of December, and thus avoid a calamitous situation in the process? Perhaps Paul McLean can answer those questions.

None of this should have happened.

Not too happy with the school or the place. It was a mix of events, such as limited facilities and limited curriculum.

We were surprised by the low level teaching in foreign languages, and students stealing from each other's rooms, the food at the school which was cooked by a local Austrian cook was of poor quality, frequent periods with no heating or no hot water in the rooms for weeks during winter and tons of restrictions. The former owner/headmaster of SIPS (the former official name of the boarding school) seemed far more interested in cashing in as many fees per student as possible but far less interested in offering good and safe facilites for the children. Hopefully, things have improved.

This is the most amazing school I ever enrolled in. I am glad to have taken apart in this amazing school. The staff was amazing and always willing to help with problems I had. The teachers willingly stayed after and helped out with students. I wish I had taken advantage of these opportunities the school provided me with. The extracurricular activities were fun and inviting. There was something for everyone and it helped me keep busy. The city itself was amazing and friendly. Always something going on. I hope to come back and thank the staff in person after I graduate.

As a student at AISS for only 2 years, I managed to love this school as my own home. The teacher and all staff in general were amazing and they took proper care for all of us, wether a full-time boarding student or just a day student. I had the best experiences there and I would never change that time of my life for anything or for another place. The location of she school is also perfect surrounded by beautiful and quiet neighbourhood and amazing landscapes. I would highly advice for choosing this school over any other !

After touring the campus today I can honestly say I am in love with the quaint and historic campus. The building is full of charm with amazing views! It is centrally located in Salzburg and very close to the public transportation. Amazing school!

As a student who has had an opportunity for education in AISS for a few years, I can say that those years where full of joy and happiness! Fantastic and passionate professors who I admire until this day, great facilities and great leaving and studying conditions. Nonetheless amazing atmosphere and beautiful landscapes right next to the school. I always recommend it, and will continue to do so!

After over 30 years of service to students from all over the world, I can only express my appreciation and fondness for the good people who dedicate themselves to the education provided by this small boarding school. Never, in my experience, has there ever been any doubt as to the motivation and resolve of the faculty and staff of this school who have been charged with a profound duty: to prepare young people from around the world for successful university studies as well as provide an environment that is safe, secure, supervised and guided by prudent and comprehensive care. A boarding school education is not for everyone, but for those who can thrive under the care of professional educators, have the habits and self-discipline to achieve their goals, and wish to do this in an environment as beautiful and captivating as Salzburg, Austria, it will be a source of pride and achievement which will serve them all their days.
